Effingham_bay_7252007_vanis_circumn Effinghm Bay, Barkley Sound, site of official completion of circumnavigation.

GB’s first haircut – performed by MS (first-time barber) at anchor in Effingham Bay.  Don’t make fun of the man’s hair or he will cut you with one of them there knives.  First_haircut_at_anchor_7262007

Tzartus_cove_barkley_sd_7302007 Tzartus Cove in Barkley Sound is one of the last places in this area in which to experience wilderness.  It’s shallow, small (room for no more than 3 or maybe 4 boats), a bit rolly from Imperial Eagle Channel, breakers on the surrounding rocky reefs and sea caves.  In short:  go here and stick around for a few days.

And, as always, the sappy cliche’ sunset to end the post:  Tzartus_cove_sunset_part_3

My husband and I were fishing in B.C. early August in the vicinity of Mamalilaculla. I was researching the area just now and came across your site. Love reading about that area and learning more. Also, amused that you just left our home, Monterey Peninsula. (We live in Pacific Grove). Hope you had an enjoyable time. Not much fog right now!!!
